Intro
On August 2, 2023 is this years transfer deadline day for the secondary transfer window for the MLS. The Whitecaps were eager to make a signing or two before the deadline ends and you're unavailable to make transfers. A lot of Caps fans have given up on the Whitecaps making a signing before the deadline, and was anticipating some signings potentially in free agents, as that is allowed until September 13. Well for the Vancouver fans that were worried about no moves being made after the Gressel departure. Axel Schuster got on the phone and successfully carved up two additions for the Vancouver Whitecaps.

The additions
Well the full back positions were heavily invested in this secondary transfer window deadline day, with Sam Adekugbe's primary position being left-back and Richie Laryea's primary position being right-back. With Sam Adekugbe he used to play for the Whitecaps, now he is reunited with the Caps. I believe his soccer is pretty well rounded. The attacking and the defending are both decent. He is now 28 years old, someone that is similar aged to a lot of the Whitecaps crucial players. While for Richie Laryea a former Toronto FC man, now plays in the west coast of Canada in Vancouver. He is now 28 as well, note that he is coming on a loan until December 31, 2o23. They have the intention to make Richie Laryea a designated player when the loan runs out and sign him permanently. Another blog will be written with more analytics.

Failed transfers
While the Whitecaps did successfully sin 2 transfers, their were also a lot of failed transfers. As multiple reports were made by Manuel Veth but some of them didn't go through on time. The first on was by the name of Malek Mehri, from Tunisia and plays center mid.
The second of three uncomplete signings is Solomon Agbalaka, which has been rumoured since almost the start of the secondary transfer window. It failed to come to terms, and the 19 year old Nigerian is not coming to Vancouver.
The last unsuccessful signing was Dembo Saidykhan, he is 19 years old and is from the country of Gambia. Very unfortunate this one failed to sign. As he would've been great in a Caps uniform.
Conclusion
So here you have it, the highs and the lows of the Vancouver Whitecaps secondary transfer window deadline day. It's not 100% confirmed that the failed signings have not agreed, but I couldn't fine any source that says that it's finalized. It will be unlikely. There is a possibility where clubs are announcing the players tomorrow as you're allowed to. I think they are 2 big additions for this Vancouver Whitecaps team who wants to make the playoffs. I am personally extremely excited to see how Richie Laryea and Sam Adekugbe.
