Colorado vs Whitecaps Pre-Match Thoughts: Looking to get into a better place after this one for Caps

Road trip

The supporters of Vancouver should be happy as after some time on the road after this one they'll finally be home in Vancouver. This road trip has mostly been up so far having a 3-2-1 record, but the struggle is that the Whitecaps have lost the last 2 matches to up to par teams, like Real Salt Lake and Houston who are in the playoffs and the Caps lost both games despite putting up reasonable effort I'll say, so the Whitecaps defeated clubs that they should defeat in Toronto, Chicago and Portland who is surprisingly higher than us in the standings currently but they were 12th at the time we were playing against them and made a incredible resurgence at the end of the season. But either way the Whitecaps are more commonly strong when playing at BC Place with their home support like every other MLS club, so they'll just have to get through this one with their best efforts as this will be a crucial and a really important match for potential playoffs or top 4 in this season, but after that there's 4 games left and 3 out of the 4 will be played in Vancouver, so just get through this one with energy and then the 7 game road journey will finally come to a end after all their trips and hard work over these 1 month and 1 week.

Standings/ Game in hand

This game was originally postponed as the match was supposed to be played on June 21st but since there was a storm near Colorado and the game wasn't cleared to play so they had to postpone it until now, which now we think about it this may be a possible advantage as you can decide your own destiny nobody can stop you because there's no teams playing other than 1 more game but nobody above you in the standings are playing because they played their match earlier without any troubles but if we win, we will be at 4th and it will not be challenged or debated by other teams because that'll most likely use our game in hand to a lot of teams, so if we lose our position will be pretty not ideal but if we win we're using the postponement to our advantage as you have no teams interfering you from becoming 4th if you are victorious in this one, but potentially with a loss we might drop down to the wildcard spot because if we lose and the other game that's playing today FC Dallas vs Philadelphia away for Dallas, but this is a huge opportunity for the Whitecaps to gain a few steps in this one.

Vanni

As I have mentioned I believe that the depth for the Whitecaps might be stronger than ever as vanni can look to his bench and have reliable options but if he wants to play with full force in this match with players being fit after a few days of training and preparation heading into this match, as players like Gauld, White, Raposo, Laryea and Blackmon are the players that have started each and every game to start this stretch of games of 7 games in 21 days, which there's not much time for a whole lot of work and training in between matches as Vanni has to deliver his tactics quick and fast. So potentially one or two of those fives will be given consent to not start and just get substituted on as it's going to be better if they can get a full version of someone on Saturday, I believe the center midfield pairing has to be consist from Vanni as there's a impact that makes to the game in every way as the midfield controls the game and me personally would prefer 2 attacking options like Ahmed and Vite or even possibly Ngando instead of Schopf as the Austrian has been slightly poor in the recent games in my opinion, not showing himself enough. While Raposo should take a rest if Adekugbe is close to 100% fit, they can split the minutes on that left wing-back role, but here is my personal lineup if I was Vanni tonight. And possibly even give Junior Hoilett his first start but where does he fit? Possibly center mid, a wing-back or even a striker in our 3-1-4-2 formation. So I do believe he has made a positive impact in these 2 games being substituted on, so I think it is time to give him his first start as a Whitecaps player.

Prediction

I believe the factor will be the Whitecaps being great on this road trip being against teams that are not in the playoffs picture, and since Colorado is currently last place in the league firing their head coach around 2 weeks ago I believe and interim head coach will be taking over for this one, and I don't believes that Vancouver will waste this opportunity to be 4th with nobody interfering and I believe that the Whitecaps will get a 2-1 victory tonight.
